Prince Harry to receive Pat Tillman Award for Service for his work at the Invictus Games during the ESPY Awards which will be held in Los Angeles on July 11, 2024. An award which caused a scandal across the Atlantic, in particular for the mother of a deceased soldier who is furious that the award honoring her son, war hero, was finally attributed to Prince Harry.
According to The Sun she criticized Meghan Markle’s husband by saying that there were other people “much more appropriate“and with less”privileges“who could win the prize:”There are recipients who are much more appropriate. There are people working in the veteran community doing amazing things to help veterans. These people do not have the money, resources, connections or privileges of Prince Harry. I think these people should be recognized” she said.

As a reminder, the prince founded the Invictus Games ten years ago to support injured and sick military personnel, whether active duty or veterans. The move also comes as Harry recently sparked controversy by boasting about killing 25 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.
