It’s not easy to separate “properly”. So when a couple manages to work together once the flame has burned out, we say bravo!
This is the case of Jenifer, who is releasing her new album Jukebox 2002-2012for which she reunited with her ex, Maxim Nucci, in the studio, sixteen years after their separation, and two years after her last project, soberly titled N°9.
“What convinced me was when the idea came that it would not be a compilation, but an album where we would revisit my old songs, those which meant so much to me and to the public, in order to allow us to exist differently,” she explained in Leisure TV Thursday November 21, before his return to the set of the Star Academy SATURDAY.
And obviously, the singer also remains faithful to the people who mattered to her, notably the father of her 20-year-old son, who is also known by his stage name Yodelice.
Simple and complicated at the same time
It must be said that they had “this desire” to work together again since 2007 and the release of the singer’s third album, Moody. Confident, Jenifer knew that “it was bound to happen”.
It must be said that the reputation of the artist, also the father of a daughter with Isabelle Ithurburu, and who is preparing an album with Marion Cotillard, is well established, he who has collaborated with Johnny Hallyday and even Jain. Moreover, Jenifer has only good things to say about her ex-partner, who is “someone instinctive, who needs to feel things in order to grasp them, to be able to collaborate”.
And in the studio, the complicity of the one who has since had two other children from different fathers always works miracles. “He is as complex and simple as me. That's what I like about him. And after so many experiences, on his side as well as mine, we said to ourselves that maybe now was the moment,” adds Jenifer.
So love stories don't necessarily end badly!
