BeInSports created the event this weekend by covering a Regional 2 match with the same professionalism as a Champions League match. A hell of a challenge for commentators Jean-Charles Sabattier and Patrick Guillou.
As part of a documentary which will be broadcast in mid-December to promote amateur football, BeInSports followed the Ruffiac-Malestroit players in Regional 2 for several days last week. The highlight of the upcoming report is the match against FC Bruz, won 2-1 by the locals and which was the subject of exceptional coverage by the Qatari channel. BeInSports cameras were deployed around the field and commentators Jean-Charles Sabattier and Patrick Guillou were on site.
BeInSports is preparing a big report on amateur football
The result of this documentary will be discovered in a few days but for the two commentators, it was quite a challenge to cover a Regional 2 match with the same seriousness and the same professionalism as a Bundesliga or European Cup match, without knowing the players or necessarily the teams' background.
“There is a form of questioning. These are not the same working conditions compared to a European Cup match. But this requires additional demands and great concentration. I felt it to situate players that we don't know, it's a different perspective for us. We're going back to basics, that's what makes the essence of football. Seeing top level matches every week is good, but there is a rejuvenating side to it” said Jean-Charles Sabattier, interviewed by Ouest France after the R2 match between Ruffiac-Malestroit and Bruz. BeInSports has in any case taken up this improbable challenge and without a doubt, the report which will be broadcast in mid-December before the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France will be a superb promotion for amateur football, often neglected but which goes for once enjoy a superb spotlight.
