The 62-year-old Oscar winner opened up vulnerable about her infertility on the show Woman’s Hour from BBC Radio. A failure which made her deeply sad and which caused her first marriage to break up.
Former Miss Malaysia, multi-awarded actress… At 62, Michelle Yeoh seems to have had a string of successes throughout her life. And yet, an indelible mark that she considers a “failure” has long weighed on her privacy: her infertility. In the podcast Woman’s Hour of the BBC Radiothe actress opened up in all vulnerability about never having had children.
“Every month you feel like a failure and then you wonder why,” Michelle Yeoh said on the show. “At some point you stop blaming yourself and tell yourself that there are certain things in your body that aren't working. That's how it is. Just let go and move forward. And I think you get to a point where you have to stop blaming yourself,” she added.

If the actress ardently wanted to have children and even took fertility treatment to make her dream come true, she finally gave it up after “a lot of time” and realized that she could not 'never would.
'The main factor' that broke up his marriage
A renunciation which cost him his first marriage. Between 1988 and 1992, Michelle Yeoh was married to billionaire and businessman Dickson Poon. “But you also have to understand that these are conversations that you really have to have with yourself and be able to look forward and think, 'Yes, we love each other a lot now, but in 10 or 20 years, I I still won't be able to give him the family he wants. And you have to be fair,” the actress continued.
She also wanted to give major advice to couples in the same situation, advocating the importance of dialogue. “If one wants children and the other doesn't, that's something you have to face from the beginning, because along the way there will be a lot of pain.
“And so I think it was very courageous in our path to admit, to say, 'Okay, let's not drag this out, because that's what we do.' Her ex-husband has since become a father, and Michelle Yeoh the godmother of her first child.
