Eight months after the actor’s death at the age of 54, a law enforcement source told the magazine People that the investigation into his death was “nearing completion” and that police believed “several people” could be charged.

The interpreter of Chandler Bing in Friends died on October 28 after apparently drowning in a jacuzzi at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The autopsy revealed that conditions contributing to his death included “the acute effects of ketamine,” as well as “coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine.”

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia, while buprenorphine is an opioid used to treat opioid use disorder, acute pain, and chronic pain.

The autopsy report also revealed that “prescription medications and loose pills” were found in his home. Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that work surrounding the investigation remains active.

“The department is conducting an open and ongoing investigation into the death of Matthew Perry,” a department representative told Fox News.
