The Saivres photo club, La Pelloche, has experienced some difficulties following the Covid pandemic. The resumption of activity turned out to be more complicated than expected. After Covid, members did not return. In addition, the club was associated with that of Saint-Rémy. “We sometimes met until late in the evening, and it became uncomfortable for the members of Saint-Rémy. Thus, we have decided, by mutual agreement, to stop our collaboration,” explains Jean-Yves Chavallard, secretary. At the start of 2024, during their general meeting, president Daniel Mosser announced his resignation to devote himself to his projects as a videographer. Thus, Dominique Labarthe took over the reins of the association, accompanied by Angèle Garreau as treasurer and Jean-Yves Chavallard. “ The club currently has six members, we are obviously open to welcoming new people in order to exchange ideas and advise each other. We would also like to change status and move to collective. It’s in reflection ».

An exhibition that remained in the pipeline

La Pelloche was also allocated, by the Saivres town hall, premises which can accommodate the photo laboratory. “ We moved our film laboratory which became a digital laboratory. We are gradually equipping ourselves with high-performance digital equipment. In this room, the municipal agents made us a cupboard where we store our equipment, because sometimes, other associations also meet in this same place. Thanks to this, we rediscovered this spirit of sharing that we missed so much. Before, we had a room common to all the sapurian associations, so it was not often available and not practical for our activity. There was more meeting time than sharing photos. Now, we meet more often, it’s much more comfortable and pleasant. » They were thus able to bring out an exhibition that had remained in the pipeline and enrich it with new photos. Around sixty photos on the theme “shadow and light” will be exhibited throughout the weekend of November 22 and 23 at the Edmond-Proust foyer, and also around ten “favorite” photos. The club’s amateur photographers like to share their passion and do not hesitate to participate in community events such as the seniors’ meal where they took the portrait of each guest.
