It became the kickoff for speculation about the Cesar nominations. The list of Revelations 2025 was announced on Wednesday. Sixteen actresses and sixteen actors were chosen.
Through a press release, the César Academy announced the list of actresses and 16 actors were chosen for the first round of voting for the 2025 Césars in the Female Revelation and Male Revelation categories. For this first screening, the Academy relies on a Revelations Committee, made up of 14 casting directors. And like every year, or almost, but that's the game my poor Lucette, it's the forgotten ones that stand out, especially since there isn't a very clear definition of the notion of revelation.
Thus, we are surprised to discover in the list actors as confirmed as the Israeli Tawfeek Barhom, already noticed at the Cannes Festival in “The Cairo Conspiracy” and cited here for “The Ghosts” and especially Pierre Lottin, cited for “En Fanfare”, who, at the age of 35, already has almost fifteen years of career and a few episodes of “Tuches” behind him.

The young actors of “The Count of Monte Cristo” forgotten
It wouldn't be so bad if there were some great forgotten people on this first list. Among the male hopefuls, the absence of the two young actors from “The Count of Monte Cristo”, Vassili Schneider and Julien de Saint-Jean, is surprising, as well as that of Paul Kircher, who was awarded at the Venice Festival for his performance in “ Their children after them.” Sofiane Zermani was not selected either, for “Barbès, Little Algérie”, but the professionals perhaps considered that he had, at the age of 38, passed the age of revelation. As for female revelations, we regret the absence of two talented young actresses: Clara-Maria Laredo for the magnificent “À son image” and Ghjuvanna Benedetti in “The Kingdom”. We can bet that they will have the opportunity to be cited in this category one day.
