The 35-year-old man is suspected of possessing and disseminating images of sexual violence against children. He would have notably exchanged this type of images with the former radio host Sven Pichal.
The investigation began on August 11, 2023 when a former production assistant, BD, reported to police that RDB had sent him material showing child sexual abuse. A friend of BD accidentally came across the images in question and advised him to go to the police.
RDB was questioned two days later and admitted that he and BD had watched images of child sexual abuse together. The actor was in possession of 241 files. “The description (of the images) made my stomach turn,” said the lawyer for Child Focus, who filed a civil suit.
The prosecutor also described these images as “repugnant”. “These facts are particularly heavy, especially because of the nature of the material. You don’t get your hands on this kind of images by chance, you have to be deeply involved in certain circles,” he assured.
RDB has never disputed the facts. A psychiatrist diagnosed him with severe paraphilia – in the form of sexual fantasies or behaviors involving inanimate objects, children or non-consenting adults – and an addiction problem. The expert believed that treatment at a sex offender center was necessary.
The accused has already benefited from intensive treatment in and outside the center for his problems. “I still go to daily therapy so I never go back to being the person I was back then,” he explained.
