“I lose consciousness”

While a first name was confirmed, this rumor gained momentum since the official accounts of the Olympic Games published a video of Celine Dion’s performance in Atlanta in 1996. However, Céline Dion assured that she “ is fine » : « This is a disease that I will live with for the rest of my life. I can’t do too much physically, because I so want to be on stage tomorrow, that if I do too much, I might have a seizure and overstimulate the body. The body stiffens, the voice stops working. My immune system is not strong enough to fight me “.

“I saw my whole life disappear”

More honest than ever, Céline Dion explains that sometimes, she “ loses consciousness » because of the pain caused by this neurological disease that is impossible to treat: “ I have seizures. These are episodes, it becomes so intense that we lose consciousness. It’s been several years, almost 17 years, it started with the voice. I tried to find bridges, tunnels, take my voice to different places “. She was even a victim. throat spasms » when she couldn’t sing: ” I found myself lying, taking medication without having a diagnosis. At first it helped a little, then very quickly, the doses had to increase “. At the same time as this fight against illness, the star experienced a complicated period marked by the death of her mother and her husband René: “ I saw my whole life disappear in that moment. (…) We put so much weight on ourselves that we will die “.

The one who considers herself to be “ an open book » towards his audience wanted to tell everything in his documentary. Even if it means putting an end to “ lies “, she who spoke of ” sinusitis or sore throat » instead of this rare disease then undiagnosed: “ I’m afraid for my life, my children, my team, my fans. (…) If this is something that is going to take me away, the newspapers must not say that I am dead while I am still alive “. Through this interview seen by 6.18 million viewers, Céline Dion wanted to send a message to her French audience, who have been waiting for her for years after the cancellation of her concerts at Paris La Défense Arena: “ I’m going to come back on stage. I don’t know when, but I’m going to come back on stage and I don’t know how to tame this voice which was very difficult for me. (…) I miss you a lot ! “.
