the essential
It's a rather surreal story that the TFC disabled supporters' association, Handi Tolosa, has just been confronted with.
Remember. On November 5, La Dépêche du Midi met Nathan Mareschi, the president of the Handi Tolosa association, founded at the beginning of the year, to allow around forty TFC supporters with disabilities to live their common passion in best conditions.
To finance the actions and the overall life of the group, in addition to various supports, such as that of the TFC foundation, the association had the idea of creating a series of humorous t-shirts “but never with the aim of mock”, put on sale on the Internet.
On it, we could read slogans like “Sitting. Always”, a reference to that of the TFC, “Standing. Always.” But among the collection, there was also a t-shirt with the head of singer Gilbert Montagné, blind, below the phrase “Who scored?”.
The singer opposes the t-shirt
This is where the press release from the Handi Tolosa group comes, accompanied by the message “You will still always be welcome at the Stadium Gilbert Montagné”. In it, the group explains that it is withdrawing the t-shirt from sale “after a constructive exchange with Gilbert Montagné”, all “in order to respect the image” of the singer of “On va s'aimer”.

Before having to backtrack, the 28-year-old president, himself in a wheelchair, still recounted, with emotion, the successful beginnings of the very first trip organized in Montpellier by the Handi Tolosa collective, which had allowed six members of the group to finally attend a meeting of the Violets far from the Stadium, what's more on a day of victory 3 goals to 0.

Ultimately, after this exchange with the singer, the association wanted to recall that its “mission is to promote awareness and support for people with disabilities” and that it “remains determined to continue its projects aimed at supporting people with disabilities and to promote accessibility in sport and society.”
