A photo exhibition showcasing Charlevoix diversity

The Charlevoix Côte-de-Beaupré Welcome Service for Newcomers (SANA) revealed the winning photographs of their competition highlighting the diversity present in the region.

The opening of the exhibition took place at the end of the day Tuesday at the Charlevoix Museum, as part of the Quebec Week of Intercultural Encounters.

The 13 images that make it up represent the cultural diversity present in the region. They express unique and powerful visions of human, cultural and social diversity.

The winners are Pierre Rochette, Martine Gagné, Josette Tremblay, Anne-Claire Poizat, Cristian Medina González, Mohammed Khalil Sakouhi, Dulce Maria Sanchez Vivar, Clément Roy, Donald Lavoie, Mamadou Kolon Barry and Véronique Tanguay.

A jury made up of three members from the artistic community and cultural diversity had the delicate mission of selecting the most striking works captured and submitted since the launch of the competition on June 21. “He had to decide between the 65 photos submitted. The selection criteria were the strength of the message sent by the photo and the aesthetics of the latter,” explained Patrick Reduron, immigration project manager for SANA.

“The exhibition highlights the wealth that our newcomers bring,” adds the prefect of the MRC of Charlevoix-Est, Odile Comeau, whose organization is a partner in this process.

The images will be exhibited for the entire month of November at the Charlevoix Museum.
