Radio and television host, but also filmmaker, actor, comedian, screenwriter, director and writer, Antoine de Caunes has touched many professions during his career. An emblematic figure of the Canal+ group, notably by having taken control of the “Grand Journal”, he has solidified his popularity with the general public.
Now more discreet, he remains a committed man, particularly with the Solidarité Sida association. And above all, he is not one of those stars who are resistant to the idea of paying taxes.
Antoine de Caunes' clear vision on taxes
In an interview with Journal du Dimanche, this Wednesday October 30, 2024, Antoine de Caunes confirmed “paying a lot, a lot of taxes”. But where many stars would have stressed their disagreement with the sums paid, this is not the case of the former public service host. “I believe in the virtue of taxes which allow me to have roads, hospitals, schools,” he affirms kindly.
While allowing oneself to qualify: “Afterwards, these taxes must be used well. But that’s another debate.” The former presenter, who is preparing the release of the second issue of his magazine “Vieux”, also specifies that he is ready to pay more taxes: “It doesn't bother me, very sincerely.”
New projects and intact enthusiasm
Antoine de Caunes' relationship with money is not surprising. Having himself evolved for a long time within the public service, financed in particular by royalties, and he is involved in numerous causes. The presenter devoted himself very early to the fight against HIV. Since 1993, he has been honorary president of the Solidarité Sida association, which notably produces the Solidays festival.
On the air of France Inter, Antoine De Caunes confided that he was a simple man: “I don't do anything in particular. (…) I am happy, curious, enthusiastic, I love what I do and I have the I feel like I still have a lot of things to do. I don't see the time passing.” A no-frills lifestyle, which suits him perfectly.
