This Friday, November 1, 2024, the 26th ceremony of NRJ Music Awards. And this year again, this edition was marked by boredom and ininterest with absent international stars or even false exclusive concert sequences. The incredible era of the 2000s is definitely behind us.
Paola Locatelli's new role is controversial
Above all, the ceremony is now talked about more for controversies than anything else. Latest? This year, it is the presence of Paola Locatelli which strongly caused Internet users to react. No, the influencer – also an actress for several years, did not come to sing on stage, but she improvised… as a field journalist.
In fact, TF1 had given her a special place on the red carpet so that she could present the artists and meet them to obtain their feelings. The problem ? Having never benefited from such training, Paola was logically not the most comfortable in this exercise (very difficult) and sometimes had difficulty filling in or knowing how and when to share her anecdotes with interest.
Angry internet users
A situation far from dramatic since Paola Locatelli nevertheless escaped, but which did not fail to attract mockery and criticism on Twitter. As we can discover today, many people deplore TF1's strategy which would harm the image of a profession already in difficulty. “Influencers replacing journalists are the worst possible choice, episode 28181020450” exclaimed a journalist in particular, sharing an extract from the young woman's performance.
“It is worst red carpet presentation of all red carpet history” can we read in response on the most toxic social network in the world, just like, “It was the abyssal void this presentation! I don't understand why TF1 made this choice…“, “It was distressing” or again, “I looked at her, I thought it was a sketch so much so that it was catastrophic“.
If the criticisms of TF1's strategy are legitimate (the channel could at least have trained Paola), these attacks on the young woman remain no less deplorable. Of course, she could have done better, but there is no need to be so toxic in her reactions.
