Very sad news for the world of television. The actor Johnny Wactor, notably known for the role of Brando Corbin in the American series General Hospital (Central Hospital), was shot and killed last weekend during an attempted robbery of his vehicle in Los Angeles, California.

According to the actor’s mother, interviewed by TMZ, the 37-year-old star was with a colleague when he saw three men trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car. If Johnny Wactor did not try to fight against the thieves, according to her, they still shot him before fleeing. The actor was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

Police have not yet confirmed the identities of those involved and describe the suspects, according to TMZ, but the actor’s mother hopes that they will soon be apprehended. She also called her son a “lovely young man” and added that his premature departure left a “huge hole in the family’s hearts.”

” One of a kind “

The team of General Hospital paid tribute to him in an Instagram post expressing their grief. “The whole family of General Hospital is heartbroken to learn of the untimely death of Johnny Wactor,” is the caption next to a photo of the actor. “He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. »

Johnny Wactor joined the cast of the show in 2020 before his character was removed two years later. Even if his fans particularly remember him thanks to his appearance in the old successful medical soap opera, he also made appearances in the series American Wives, NCIS, The OA, Grey’s Anatomy : Station 19, Criminal Minds, Siberia And Westworld.
