WE WERE THERE The Voice 2024, rehearsals before the final: a Talent loses his voice, intervention by technicians for the “a little wobbly” scene

Already more than three months since the start of the thirteenth season of The Voice was given on TF1. This Saturday, May 25, 2024, it’s time for the grand finale. There are five in competition: Gabriel Lobao coached by Mika, Baptiste Sartoria member of the Vianney team, Alphonse advised by Zazie, Irisreplacement for Adnaé in Bigflo and Oli’s team as well as Shanys, drafted by Camille Lellouche. In the days leading up to this long-awaited moment, they all worked hard. Thursday May 23, Purepeople.com attended the rehearsals and takes you behind the scenes.

The evening of the final The Voice 2024, viewers will be focused on the performance of each Talent, who will sing their own song, written with the help of their coach. But before the cameras turn on, there is a lot of work to be done. During rehearsals, there are around thirty or more on set: the orchestra, the sound technicians, the lighting technicians, the production team… Saturday, there will be around 300, or ten times more.

The Voice 2024: Sound, light settings… and even floor, deemed “a little wobbly”

This is a show experienced in live conditions. Talents and coaches are made up and dressed as if for the big night. Shanys begins. She is initially installed in the red coaches’ chairs, accompanied by Camille Lellouche, while the sound is started for the first time with the choirs. “Well done guys, it rocks“, says the comedian who is also a singer. This is where the adjustments to the light effects are made. Olivier, presented as the boss of the orchestra, manages with a masterful hand. Throughout the tests, readjustments are made and comments are pouring out on set.We have a problem with the framework“, we hear. “Can I throw?“, asks a voice from the other side of the stage.

Between two performances, technicians in black t-shirts flocked with the logo The Voice rub the floor of the stage, as if they were sticking something to it. Questioned by us, one of them explained in a little more detail: “The ground was a little wobbly. We put a wedge so that it doesn’t move too much and prevent it from slipping.“Safety above all! It’s impossible to take the risk of a Talent breaking their face in the middle of a show in front of the 3 million viewers who should be watching the final from their sofa.

Rehearsals for The Voice 2024: Shanys loses her voice, Iris not powerful enough

Then, it also happens that the Talent makes its adjustments. As Iris takes the stage, ready to sing As per usual accompanied by her piano, she shows a certain embarrassment. “Can we go down? I would like the piano to be more present“, she indicates. Request accepted immediately. She resumes, but this time it is the technique which blocks: “Stop. You need to give more. There is no one there but when there is the public, there will be more noise. We need to hear you!” Message received.

For his part, Shanys is tired. Or rather, it’s his voice that tires. You can hear it and she makes it known. “Since this morning, we’ve only been singing“, she says on stage, from her cube high up. A little break is necessary. After a well-deserved glass of water, she tells us that the rhythm is “very intensive“But she holds on, in particular thanks to the inhalations and other exercises that she takes great care to follow every evening before going to bed.

See you this Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9:10 p.m. on TF1 to follow the grand final of The Voice and discover the identity of the winner.
