Catherine Ringer (who celebrates her 67th birthday this Friday, October 18, 2024) and Fred Chichin lived a love story that went well beyond the limits of feelings since together, they formed Rita Mitsouko for 29 years. A duo whose hits like C’est comme ça, Marcia Baila and Andy have made more than one dance. And that’s still the case. Among the biggest fans of Rita Mitsouko are surely Ginger (39 years old), Simone (34 years old) and Raoul (32 years old), their three children. If the first became an actress (she notably played in the series The legends office), the last two went up a group: Midnight.

We must cherish ghosts, but not let them take us into our world.”

This is how she comes to talk about her father, whom she only knew until she was 17 and his death in 2007, caused by a devastating illness. Music also helped her overcome her grief even if she regrets that her father was never able to know the height of her talent: “He won’t have known that I was making music… But I always feel his presence, in this desire, never to settle for half-measures.
