“A cold shower”, Tahar Rahim looks back on the huge flop of his collaboration with Dakota Johnson

This year was not only marked by films as successful as Poor crandunemployment or Willy Wonka. Pour Marvel2024 hasn’t exactly been a great time. Released in on February 14, Madame Webone of his latest creations, was wiped virulent criticism. And some don’t even hesitate to call it a flop.

However, the box office receipts were not as disastrous as the number of bad reviews might suggest. Last March, Madame Web had also made it possible to release more than 200 million dollarsfor a budget of 80 million dollars. On the other hand, very few viewers said they were satisfied with the film. Some of its stars even revealed their disappointment in the media, like Tahar Rahim.

Tahar Rahim draws up a disastrous assessment of his collaboration with Dakota Johnson

Tahar Rahim is one of the few stars of the film Madame Web who admitted to being disappointed by the feature film. At the moment, the actor is making a lot of talk about him for his role in Mr Aznavourwhich will be released in a few days in France. But he also had to face a huge disappointment after his participation in Madame Web with Dakota Johnson, a few months earlier.

This is what Tahar Rahim recently revealed in an interview with Match. “It (…) was downright a cold shower (…) The problem for me is that what I read is not at all what I saw on the screen. The film is much less good than the initial promise But that’s life, sometimes things don’t work out.explained the actor.

Tahar Rahim has not only had bad experiences with Marvel

Despite this failure, Tahar Rahim don’t regret to have played in Madame Web. “I had prepared myself, but I will never regret it because I fulfilled a childhood dream. A Marvel is a pretty crazy way to enter people’s homes”also underlined the actor of Mr Aznavour.

Fans of the Marvel universe are less philosophical than Tahar Rahim. Some of them now accuse the producers of having definitively sunk the SSU (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, in which Madame Web registers). In terms of revenue alone, the feature film was less profitable than Marvel Studios’ most severe disappointments, such as Morbius et Shazam 2.

Ultimately, the fact that Madame Web was not well received didn’t really shock many people. However, Marvel films have tended to have a string of flops in recent years, and fans are still waiting for the production that will allow them to straighten out this universe.
