The actress starring in the biopic Lee Miller experienced ridicule from her school friends, as she recounts in “50 minutes Inside”, the celebrity show hosted by Isabelle Ithurburu.

After “C à vous”, it is the turn of the TF1 celebrity show to receive Kate Winslet. The actress is in full promotion of the feature film where she plays Lee Miller, a war photographer. A choice that fits logically into his career: “I care about women’s rights. I want to celebrate my sisters, my colleagues because we have many challenges to face in today’s world”.

“I am very surprised that when a male actor transforms for a role they say “wow, what a performance” and conversely if they lose weight for a film, people say to themselves “it’s so impressive” whereas if a woman changes her diet to lose weight for a film, she will be called irresponsible. That’s the difference”continues Kate Winslet this Saturday October 5 in “50 minutes Inside”.

A subject already discussed a few days ago on the 5 talk show set. Pierre Lescure had paid the price after emphasizing that she “assumed the wrinkles, the dark circles to show the physical and psychological fatigue” of his character. “Would you ask this same question to a man, to an actor?the Oscar-winning actress replied.

A wish for his 50th birthday

See you almost 50 years old, the one who doesn’t “I can’t be so excited about being this age.” tells Isabelle Ithurburu her wish when blowing out her candles. “I would like in my country, our new government to ensure that all children in public schools have free access to the canteen and I will tell you why”begins Kate Winslet before detailing not her future, but her past: “When I was a kid, my siblings and I got free meals because our parents didn’t make enough money. It was great to be able to benefit from it, but the other kids knew I was different and they judged me for it”.

“It’s very difficult for a child to start life feeling different from everyone else. This is the starting point of low self-esteem. If we could change that, I would be very grateful.”she concludes.
