Guest at the microphone of Jerr Allain, Louis-José Houde was asked to comment, in an excerpt of their interview published on YouTube, on who had encouraged him to stop shooting commercials.
Loblaws spokesperson at the start of his career, the one who once animated Dollaraclip on Musique Plus indicated that he now felt a sort of discomfort at being recognized for his roles in advertising messages.

After admitting that “MAKING commercials was nice,” he noted that “after that, the problem was that they put it on the air.”

“I realized, after a certain time, that I was not comfortable being Mr. Grocery Store, let’s say, Mr. Loblaws… Being the face of a brand, which was not Quebecois, either,” said explained Houde who, for the first time in 19 years, will not host the ADISQ Gala next November.

Louis-José Houde then said that he had to do it to know that he didn’t like it, and that he has no problem with the fact that other comedians (like Martin Matte with Maxi) are able to film in pubs without feeling unwell.
