Kate is back at work

The Princess of Wales has officially returned to work for the first time since announcing her illness. She attended a meeting at Windsor Castle on September 17, 2024, surrounded by her staff, to discuss the initiative Early Years (Early Childhood) which works on the psychological and emotional development of toddlers. This meeting, which was attended by members of his team and those of the Royal Foundation for Early Childhood, appears in the official circular of the court.

“The Princess of Wales, Deputy Chair of The Prince and Princess of Wales’ Royal Foundation, held a meeting this afternoon Early Years at Windsor Castle,” the agenda says. This is the first meeting to mention Kate in the circular since she began treatment earlier this year, although she has appeared in public twice: at Trooping the Colour in June and at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in July.

The Princess of Wales, who announced last week that she would resume some public engagements and hold meetings in Windsor, has made early years her priority, and will be involved in anything that creates a constructive dialogue around the wellbeing of under-fives, both in the UK and internationally. Her aim is to change practices and support parents, professionals and the public authorities to give children a better start in life. Working on this project, Kate has been struck by how many of the ills that affect adults can be rooted in childhood trauma.

Kate is not yet cured of her cancer

On September 9, in her latest video, Prince William’s wife announced that she had finished her chemotherapy and wanted to focus on her recovery, specifying that the road was still long. The princess did not specify if she was following other forms of treatment but Kensington Palace made it clear that she was not yet cured of her cancer.

Adding her voice to the happy footage filmed in Norfolk this summer, Kate says she has drawn strength from her family as she fights her illness. The Princess of Wales also addresses all other cancer patients, telling them she is by their side.

“The last nine months have been incredibly challenging for our family,” Kate says. “Life as we know it changes in an instant, and we have to find new ways to navigate these turbulent waters and an uncharted path. Living with cancer is complex, frightening, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to us. The disease humbly confronts you with your own vulnerabilities like never before, and offers a new perspective on everything. Above all, it has reminded William and me to be grateful for the simple but important things in life that so many of us take for granted. Like the simple fact that we love and are loved.”

According to rumors, Kate is expected to attend the ceremony Remembrance Sundaynext November, and at the traditional Christmas concert that she organizes each year at Westminster Abbey, Together at ChristmasPerhaps we will see her on other occasions to promote causes dear to her heart if her health permits.
