C’was the crazy dream of Étienne Klein, research director at the CEA and talented popularizer of science. So he made a book out of it. A comic strip to be precise, with his two accomplices, Laurent-Frédéric Bollée for the script and Christian Durieux for the drawing. Unable to meet Albert Einstein, his model and inspiration, the researcher invited him to share a dream during a stay at Princeton, the prestigious university where the brilliant inventor of the theory of relativity worked.

“I miss Einstein. I wish he would come back,” confides Etienne Klein. “So I wondered how he would react to our world, to the consequences of some of his discoveries, or to the questions he left unanswered.”

On a Rolling Stones album, Étienne Klein lets his mind wander before an unexpected visitor comes knocking at his door, in the person of master Albert himself. This is the beginning of a crazy adventure, which will lead our two heroes, on the back of a “space-gadfly”, to the discovery of black holes and quantum physics (with which Einstein had complex relations), but also of our latest scientific revolutions (Internet, AI) as well as our future existential challenges (climate change).
