Charging speed is now clearly the new battleground for Chinese manufacturers. The new BYD Han L and Tang L therefore provide a significant improvement thanks to a battery which will be the first on the market with a charging rate of 6C.
BYD models today are not examples in terms of power or charging speed. But now the manufacturer is announcing ultra-fast charging for its new models which will headline the range: the Han L sedan and the Tang L SUV.
Both are available in a plug-in hybrid version of 200 kW (traction) or 400 kW (integral), but also in an electric version whose performance is much higher.
In electric, the two-wheel drive model receives a 500 kW rear motor. The full version brings this value to 580 kW with the block named TZ210XYR which, according to the manufacturer, is the second most powerful electric motor on the market, just behind that of the Keonigsegg Gemera… Let’s add a 230 kW motor at the front and the we arrive at a total of 810 kW, or 1102 hp. For the sedan as for the SUV.

On the battery side, BYD here adopts an electrical architecture operating on a voltage of 945 volts. The capacity of the batteries or their autonomy is not yet specified. Because BYD particularly emphasizes charging speed. We charge from 16 to 80% in 10 minutes, and from 16 to 100% in 24 minutes. The manufacturer also emphasizes that these performances would be preserved in extreme cold, down to -30°C.

-And if you can’t find a charger that’s powerful enough, the Han L / Tang L duo adopts the same strategy as the Denza N7 and D9: charge simultaneously on two chargers, with a plug on each side…
Marketed in China in a few days at prices around 300,000 RMB (40,000 euros), the Han L and Tang L should arrive in Europe in a few months, where their ultra-fast charging will be less usable in the absence of a compatible terminal . But above all they announce an increase in the charging speed to come on all models in the range. The 975 V architecture could quickly find itself on board the Seal, then the Sealion 07.
