Following on from the 7X SUV, Zeekr is preparing to offer an electric station wagon in Europe. The 7 GT focuses on looks more than loading volume.
The body of choice in the road car segment, the station wagon has gradually been supplanted by the SUV. So much so that some historic manufacturers in the segment, such as Volvo or Mercedes, are hesitating or giving up on the move to electric. But Audi, BMW and Volkswagen still believe in it. Just like the Chinese manufacturers.
In a few months, here is the fourth example of a Chinese electric station wagon. The Zeekr 7 GT (007 GT in China) arrives after the Nio ET5T, Neta S Shooting Brake and Denza Z9 GT. A shame when China didn’t want the break a few months ago…
Directly derived from the Zeekr 007 sedan, which will not be offered in Europe, this station wagon will not play the role of mover. At 4865 mm, its length is identical (within 1 mm) to the 4-door version, and its tailgate remains quite inclined. with a quarter panel similar to that of the Zeekr 7X SUV. The trunk volume is not communicated, but should be slightly higher than the 464 liters of the sedan. Let’s add a frunk of 31 liters.
The photos show us a Chinese version, with the front decorated with 1711 LEDs on the “Zeekr Stargate” headband signed Valeo. However, as with the 7X, this element will not be present in Europe, since it does not comply with lighting regulations.
Charge in less than 15 minutes
Propulsion of 310 kW or 4-wheel drive of 475 kW thanks to the addition of a 165 kW front motor, these are the two mechanical configurations of the Zeekr 7 GT, with two 800 volt batteries. There’s some of the fastest charging on the market thanks to Geely’s LFP Golden Battery cells. On the 75 kWh pack, the 10 to 80% is done in just 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
-The range reaches 688 km (on the sedan, in the CLTC cycle), or around 575 km in the WLTP cycle. The 100 kWh pack adds almost 200 km of CLTC range (870 km, or approximately 700 km WLTP), but it charges a little slower. Slower, it’s still a nice 10-80% in… 15 minutes.
The Zeekr 7 GT will make its first public appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show in April. It will be marketed in China immediately and will arrive in Europe in the fall. In the absence of 500 kW charging stations, its charging performance will necessarily be reduced in our regions. But the load curve could nevertheless prove very efficient. To be confirmed by a supertest as soon as possible…
