“The house of cards has collapsed and it’s not Tartempion’s fault. The conductor of this debacle is him.” This Wednesday, at the trial of Eric Arnoux, promoter of very high-end real estate, the floor was given to the many accusers. And it was prosecutor Sylvie Bertrand-Curreli who launched the offensive by portraying a defendant above all concerned about his lifestyle, angry, insensitive to the fate of employees, giving lessons and a follower of conspiracy theory. Against the man who deceived his people, surfed on chronic over-indebtedness, practiced the system of “connecting pockets” and showed “total contempt for the law”, the Geneva Public Prosecutor’s Office requested a custodial sentence of 5 years.
In the eyes of the prosecution, the Frenchman, now 58 years old, has accumulated wrongdoing in the conduct of the companies over which he had control. “Such a headlong rush could only lead to these discomfitures.” Demanding a guilty verdict for the long list of offenses charged, the prosecutor considers that the person concerned must be sentenced to a firm and heavy sentence because of his chaotic management, his systematic way of acting and his total lack of awareness or regret. “He never fixed anything.” In addition to prison, a ban on practicing business in Switzerland, for a period of 5 years, is also requested.
