Tuesday January 21, during its CSE, the Arkema company, specializing in the production of chlorine and other chemical products, announced “a project to refocus activity on its Jarrie site” in Isère.

Located south of Grenoble, the factory currently has 344 employees. 154 will lose their jobs, management announces. “The job cuts should take place between mid-2025 and the end of 2025,” Arkema said in a press release.
-In question, “the cessation of production activities of chlorine, soda, methyl chloride and technical fluids” which leads to a “reorganization of the entire site” to avoid its closure.
Employees at the Jarrie factory have been on strike since January 13. Since then, the production site has been shut down.
