Since Monday, you can present the France Identity application in the event of an inspection. It is now accepted. This is an experiment which only concerns TGV Inoui journeys, indicates the France-identity.gouv.fr website. Generalization is planned for February.
All you need to do is present the France Identity application on your mobile phone. The agent will scan the QR code that will appear on your screen and will be able to verify information such as your date of birth and your first and last name. “This digital card replaces the presentation of your train ticket when the conductors pass by the TGV Inoui. » Please note, the train ticket is still necessary to pass through the access gates to the platform.
How it works
For this method to work, the passenger must have entered their last name, first name and date of birth when purchasing their train ticket. “This is the only information shared with SNCF Voyageurs, and necessary for the conductor to find the corresponding train ticket with the identity of the traveler,” specifies the company in a press release.
-Additionally, some configuration is required. In fact, on the France Identity application, you must touch the identity card then press the “Start SNCF experiment” button. Then, the digital identity card (the one that incorporates an NFC chip) will need to be scanned. You will finally be asked to enter a personal code. A QR code will be generated and will be ready to be presented to the controller during your trip.
