For the moment, Dacia only offers one electric model: the Spring micro-city car, no longer really in the game with its outdated technology despite the recent drop in its base price to €16,900.
But like all other automobile brands, the low-cost division of the Renault group must adapt to European standards encouraging manufacturers to massively electrify their ranges. During a press conference, the general director of Dacia Denis Le Vot once again confirmed the arrival of an electric version of the Sandero at the end of 2027, which will be available in the catalog of the next generation of the city car from its launch (alongside the thermal engines).
“Two new electric Dacias after 2030”
The most interesting statement from Denis Le Vot concerns precisely the development of this range of electric vehicles at Dacia, as reported by the journalists from Automotive News. In addition to this electric Sandero expected at the end of 2027, it is also announcing other vehicles without a thermal engine: “after 2030, there will be more than two models launched year after year”. With the electric Sandero, this will make at least three Dacias using this technology.
-Dacia has no other choice anyway since for the moment, the European Union still plans to ban the sale of new thermal cars on its markets from 2035. Even if several European manufacturers including Renault have expressed recently doubts about the feasibility of this objective, they must theoretically abandon new thermal cars by then.
