The Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the victim of the fatal collision between a car and a school bus Thursday morning on Highway 955 in Saint-Valère. He is Jimmy Lacharité, 40 years old, from Saint-Albert.
Coroner Francine Danais has established an investigation to shed light on the causes and circumstances surrounding the death.
The violent collision occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. at kilometer 6. The driver of the car, for a reason still unknown, apparently deviated from his lane to collide with the bus coming in the opposite direction.
-Following the impact, the bus rolled onto its side. Firefighters from the Bulstrode Authority had to intervene with their extrication equipment to free the driver, who was alone on board the bus. The woman suffered serious injuries, according to the SQ.
