At the time of the call, emergency services knew that a child was “missing” in this town located very close to Metz. “There were five occupants inside the home, two adults and three children. Two adults and two children were able to evacuate before help arrived, and one child was missing. He was found deceased,” the officer said.
At the height of the intervention, around 50 firefighters were mobilized, as well as around twenty vehicles, including three pump machines, an aerial ladder, a medical team and a clearing rescue unit. A judicial investigation was opened to determine the causes of the incident.
