Futsal teams compete all winter in the sports hall of the Saint-Pierre Cultural and Sports Center. A meeting held by football lovers for decades. Initially practiced with a foam ball, the discipline evolved until the creation of the championship in 2002 by Louis Quédinet and Denis Durand.
Denis Durand remembers it as if it were yesterday. In January 2002, he organized with the former president of the football league Louis Quédinet the first edition of the futsal championship. At that time, the discipline was already well known to residents, but the matches did not respect the regulations in force. “When I arrived in 2001, tout everyone was playing in a room, except that we didn’t apply the rules of futsal” explains the former referee.
In 23 years of existence, the championship has seen numerous teams compete, some of whose names have become emblematic. THE GringosTHE GrizzliesTHE Returned are among those who marked the first years of the competition before disappearing. Other teams continue to welcome new players and participate in the championship.
We, the Mean Machine, have been present in this championship since the beginning […] Before it was about 15 teams in the same competition and now that changed with a pool A and a pool B
