For production, we thought about savings, with a three-wheel design and the use of composite materials, which reduces the number of parts and labor costs. Recent history shows the obstacles of solar vehicle projects: Lightyear 0 and Sono Motors Sion have stopped their promising projects. More cautious, traditional manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and Toyota are limiting the integration of solar technology into their vehicles.
The company is now testing the design, components and performance of pre-production vehicles. This validation phase precedes the launch of mass production. The success of this step would allow Aptera to realize its ambition: to offer a vehicle with minimal energy costs for the user and thus transform the automobile market.
