Renault is taking advantage of the Brussels Motor Show to unveil a preview of the interior of its next 20,000 euro electric car: the Twingo E-Tech. A cabin that combines technology and practical aspects.
Renault is one of the most popular European manufacturers in the field of electric cars. With its well-established range and the excellent public reception of its R5, the French brand is on a good roll.

And if 2024 was busy, 2026 will be crucial for Renault with the launch of its Electric Twingopromised under 20,000 euros excluding subsidies. If a preview of its bodywork had already been presented in November 2023, the brand is taking advantage of the Brussels Motor Show, which has just opened its doors, to reveal the interior of the prototype foreshadowing the production version.
A tech and practical interior
The first thing that strikes you when you discover the photos is realism of this dashboard. Buttons, screens, controls, steering wheel: one year before its release, everything seems ready to hit the road.
Let’s take this opportunity to discover what awaits us aboard this next electric Twingo. Despite its tight price, the technological part does not seem to have been forgotten: as evidenced by the two screens7 inches for the driver and 10.1 inches in the center of the dashboard, clearly shared with the R5.
Note, however, that Renault does not mention the presence of Android Automotive on the latter, although it is present on the rest of its electric range. THE physical buttons are, however, there, particularly for the air conditioning settings – which we already find, in particular, on the Clio. Shared rooms cost less.

However, Renault openly cites the first generation of Twingo, which appeared in 1992, as inspiration. This city dweller gained her letters of nobility thanks to its incredible habitabilityand Renault therefore had to offer something similar. The message seems to have gotten through, since this new electric Twingo receives a sliding rear seatlike the recent Hyundai Inster, one of its future competitors. Crucial detail: the Scénic E-Tech, although much larger, is not entitled to it.
-The press release also emphasizes practical details, such as the magnetic front headrests to attach screens for the rear passengers, while the colorful upholstery echoes those of the Twingo I, whose collaborations with Benetton or Kenzo have marked their times. A large glass roof illuminates the interior of this concept, but risks not making it to the mass production stage.
A car ever closer to the series
Surprisingly: Renault takes advantage of the presentation of the interior of this Twingo E-Tech electric prototype (since that is its name) to bring some alterations to its bodyworkwhich we have already known for several months.
These modifications, although slight, make the car more realistic. It’s a detail (reduced width, modified rear lights, revised windows, addition of front air intakes, etc.), but it’s going in the right direction.
The production Twingo will, as a reminder, sold in 2026 with a price starting below 20,000 euros despite production in Europe, without taking into account a possible ecological bonus. To achieve this, everything has been reviewed.
The batteries switch to LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) chemistry, development is reduced to just two years, the number of parts melts like snow in the sun, and Renault will even go so far as to collaborate with a very mysterious Chinese actor.

Finally, the AmpR Small platform, already used on the R5 and R4, will be used. If the engine or autonomy has not yet been revealed, Renault communicates on extremely low consumption of 10 kWh/100 km. An electric car promised to be economical to purchase and use, and which will come up against the BYD Seagull, the Leapmotor T03 or even the future Volkswagen at 20,000 euros.
