The media specializing in personal finance Milesopedia published this week its annual list of the best credit cards in the country.

This ranking evaluates more than 200 financial products based on nearly 200 criteria in order to find the best offers.
The best option for grocery shopping this year is the Scotiabank American Express Gold credit card.
In particular, it offers six points per dollar spent at IGA or Sobeys and five points per dollar in other grocery stores in addition to a flexible rewards program.
It also offers comprehensive travel insurance and no currency conversion fees.
The Cobalt American Express, CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite and National Bank World Elite Mastercard credit cards also received mentions in this category.
What option for restaurants?
The best credit card named by Milesopedia for restaurants is the American Express Cobalt Card.
It offers 5% cash back for restaurants, bars and home food delivery as well as cash back as an account credit of $10 from 1000 points accumulated.
No minimum income is required to obtain it.
The American Express Gold cards from Scotiabank, World Elite Mastercard from National Bank and BMO Eclipse Visa Infinite also receive mentions when it comes to groceries.
For gasoline and transportation
The award for best credit card for gas and transportation this year goes to the RBC Ion+ Visa card, according to Milesopedia.
It offers three times the “Airplane” points on groceries, travel, gas, electric vehicle charging, streaming services, digital games and subscriptions, with no annual fee.
One “Airplane” point is also earned for every dollar spent on all other eligible purchases.
This card also allows you to save three cents per liter of gasoline at Petro-Canada while obtaining 20% additional points.
