The best option for grocery shopping this year is the Scotiabank American Express Gold credit card.

In particular, it offers six points per dollar spent at IGA or Sobeys and five points per dollar in other grocery stores in addition to a flexible rewards program.

The best credit card named by Milesopedia for restaurants is the American Express Cobalt Card.

It offers 5% cash back for restaurants, bars and home food delivery as well as cash back as an account credit of $10 from 1000 points accumulated.

The American Express Gold cards from Scotiabank, World Elite Mastercard from National Bank and BMO Eclipse Visa Infinite also receive mentions when it comes to groceries.

The award for best credit card for gas and transportation this year goes to the RBC Ion+ Visa card, according to Milesopedia.
