Fast Retailing, the group to which Uniqlo and other clothing brands belong, announced that it would raise monthly salaries by 10%, bringing it to 330,000 yen (around 2,000 euros), starting in March. The annual pay should thus slightly exceed 5 million yen (around 30,000 euros).

The main reason for this choice is to secure and attract competent personnel, in order to strengthen both its development potential and competitiveness against other international companies.

The monthly pay for a store manager in their first or second year in the Fast Retailing group will increase from 390,000 yen (2,400 euros) to 410,000 yen (2,500 euros), with a 5% increase in annual income, at 7.3 million yen (45,000 euros).

Fast Retailing will also introduce a new remuneration system for its staff in Japan, raising the salaries of full-time headquarters and sales employees by 11% based on the results of assessing their skills and ambitions. Those selected or promoted to key positions will receive an increase of up to 54%.
