what foods can you still buy at the supermarket with a meal voucher?

Since 1is January, the list of products that can be purchased in supermarkets using meal vouchers has been reduced. Until December 31, 2024, under a law adopted in 2022 against a backdrop of inflation, this means of payment could, in fact, be used to purchase processed products but also raw foodstuffs. This possibility did not survive the change of year: the National Assembly has already declared itself in favor of its extension, but the Senate, due to the censorship of the Barnier government, did not have time to pronounce before the deadline of December 31.

At the start of the year, employees therefore find themselves in the situation that existed before mid-2022: their meal vouchers can be used in restaurants as well as in supermarkets, but in the latter case, all food products are not eligible. The situation could soon change again: the Senate included on its agenda for January 15 a bill aimed at extending the use of meal vouchers for food shopping at the supermarket.

While waiting to know what the senators will decide, The World offers you this little quiz to help you memorize what you can or cannot buy with your meal vouchers when you go out to do your shopping, as things currently stand.
