A DoorDash delivery driver rammed into a Texas home, destroying the garage door, before fleeing without delivering the food.
Melanie Uriegas received a call from her daughter around 11:30 a.m. on December 13, said NBC News. The latter had heard a very loud noise and assumed that it was construction workers working nearby.
The mother had quite a shock when she arrived in front of her residence. It was the neighbors who told him that the culprit was a DoorDash driver who fled after the accident.
“I’d like to see his car. I have questions for him, like: ‘What the hell did you do to my house!’” M saidme Uriegas to NBC News.
The worst part of this situation? It was not her daughter who ordered the food, but rather her neighbor who lives a street away from her.
According to information from local authorities and witnesses, the delivery driver intentionally or accidentally drove onto the sidewalk at high speed, then mowed down his mailbox and destroyed his landscaping. He finally hit his brick house before fleeing.
He never delivered the tacos.
The driver has still not been found by the Texan authorities, the American media confirmed. The investigation is ongoing in collaboration with the food delivery company.
Melanie Uriegas wants DoorDash to make things right for her and her family.
“It’s DoorDash, it’s their company, it’s not my problem,” she said. Fix my house. I didn’t even order the food. We are completely innocent.”
