They opened their own locavore store in Saint-Avertin. Since September 2024, Camille and Laurie have been offering, at La Bonne Récolte, a wide range of products supplied 90% by producers located less than 100 kilometers from the town.
In total, more than 700 references of fruits and vegetables, beers, meats and even beauty products make up the shelves. La Bonne Récolte also offers vegetable products such as tofu, also directly produced in Indre-et-Loire.
Located right next to the Auchan supermarket, the store is already enjoying some success. “What pleases is that we are breaking the codes of commerce by completely moving away from the supermarket model where each space is optimized for selling”explains Laurie, “We offer an airy, warm space. And above all, even if we offer premises, that does not prevent the customer from being able to do almost all their shopping with us”.
In addition to its shopping area, Camille and Laurie provide their customers with a friendly space, upstairs, with tables to sit and enjoy products purchased in store. In the same place, you can find a cellar and brewery section made up of 45 wine references, a few bottles of spirits and a wide selection of beers. A terrace is even available for sunny days.
Behind La Bonne Récolte, the two traders aim to highlight the producers of our department. “We make it a point of honor to choose and know our suppliers”explains Laurie, “we see them every week and we have visited almost all of the productions.” Here, the objective is also to show the traceability of the items put up for sale (with sheets presenting each producer).
Even if half of its products do not come from organic farming, La Bonne Récolte nevertheless makes a point of sourcing its products via sustainable agriculture: “We pay particular attention to anything that is an animal product such as pork”adds Laurie.
In addition to allowing Saint-Avertinois to consume locally, La Bonne Récolte aims to offer a meeting place for associations or other organizations. For example, she plans to collaborate with Family Planning 37 to organize discussion sessions on themes such as parenthood.
Always with a desire for sharing and conviviality, Laurie and Camille plan to organize an event each month around a product by inviting one or more producers.
