This initiative aims, through a series of activities (exhibitions of local products, thematic meetings, etc.) and BtoB meetings between professionals from the region, to contribute to the promotion of local production on the market.

Considered among large employers, textile manufacturing units in Tangier have always been one of the main pillars of industrial activity in the regional territory. It is in this context that the city of the strait is hosting the second edition of the Open Days from December 18 to 20 under the slogan “Supporting businesses to promote local products”. Initiated by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries of the Northern Zone (Amith-ZN), this event aims to be a platform for exchange between professionals in the region and open to any initiative aimed at highlighting the textile potential of the region in general and Tangier in particular. Generally considered a locomotive of economic development in the region, “Tangier plays a crucial role in the development of the textile and clothing sector, which constitutes a major element in the economic fabric of the city,” said Mounir Laymouri, president of the Tangier municipal council, during the official opening of this twelfth edition, while expressing his wish that these open days emanate objective recommendations to promote the repositioning of the sector and its success on the markets.
New local commercial brands
Participants agreed on the great importance of launching initiatives to encourage the creation of new local commercial brands capable of competing in the market. This requires the mobilization of the efforts of all public and private stakeholders to improve the quality and competitiveness of the region’s production. Especially since the Northern region has more than 700 textile and clothing production units, which generate more than 120,000 jobs in its regional territory. Held in its entirety at the Amith headquarters in Tangier, the work of this second edition is distinguished by an exhibition highlighting the national and local product as well as the organization of BtoB meetings for the benefit of professionals and business leaders. businesses.
