File of aggravated assault on an elderly person
Saguenay municipal police officers were deployed early this morning on Saint-Patrick Street, in the Jonquière borough, for an elderly person who was allegedly attacked by several individuals outside.
According to what - reports, at the time of the attack, the septuagenarian was shoveling.
Following the event, a search operation was launched to find the attackers.
The state of health of the septuagenarian is unknown.
SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN QUEBEC
Police officers from the SQ and even the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) were involved in the case because the suspect vehicle was located around 9 a.m. on the Laurentian highway in Quebec.
A high-risk mobilization intervention was triggered in the Lac-Beauport exit ramp where the vehicle was intercepted.
Each of the individuals had to obey the officers’ orders and exited the vehicle, one after the other.
The five suspects were handcuffed and transported to the police station.
The investigation file is carried out by the Saguenay police. The motives for the attack are unknown at this time.
