It seems that the number 100 brings luck to Prevost. The Sainte-Claire coach manufacturer has reached an agreement with Coach Atlantic Maritime Bus for an order of 100 H3-45 coaches, the first deliveries of which are scheduled for next spring, a contract valued at more than $100 million.
This announcement is timely to mark the end of the 100e Prevost’s birthday. The coach manufacturer took the opportunity on Thursday to reveal the details of this contract.
“We are starting with the delivery of around fifteen coaches starting in the spring and the others will be added, depending on the replacement cycle. We are talking about a delivery that will be spread over a few years,” indicated François Tremblay, president of Prevost and the Volvo Canada Group.

This agreement also supports the production of coaches at Prevost and ensures high-end coach transportation, offered by Coach Atlantic Maritime Bus. The contract includes parts and service over the life of the vehicles.
“It’s a substantial contract,” said Mr. Tremblay.
The first vehicles will be delivered in May-June, as planned.
The Prince Edward Island company, which is a private carrier, has a fleet of 250 coaches serving different markets in Canada and the United States.
“To close our 100 years of history, what better time just a few days before the holidays! I think we couldn’t dream of a more beautiful gift,” added Mr. Tremblay to the employees of the Lévis Service Center, who were gathered for the occasion.

“Over the past 100 years, Prevost has set the standard in the motorcoach industry for reliability, service and innovation. We are proud to be their partner and excited to celebrate their 100e anniversary with this announcement,” said Matthew Cassidy, president of Coach Atlantic Transportation Group.
Customs tariffs
While Prevost marks the end of a busy year, marked by the 100e anniversary of the company, other concerns are emerging among Quebec manufacturers and exporters, in particular those related to the threat of the imposition of customs tariffs of 25% on Canadian exports.
“Normally, we don’t get involved in commenting on foreign economic policies. That being said, we are already preparing as an industry, with the associations, and our lobbying team present in Washington, with the Volvo Group,” indicated the president of Prevost.
“We are preparing our response to be ready on January 20. So, we are mobilizing as an industry to respond to our position,” he said in conclusion.
