Disabled, she parks in a Lidl car park… and receives a fine

It is in German-speaking Switzerland, in Winterthur, not far from Zurich, in the parking lot of the large retail chain Lidl, that a disabled woman received a fine after parking her vehicle in a space in this parking lot reserved… for disabled people. However, the vehicle of the sixty-year-old suffering from multiple sclerosis did have her badge proving that she was disabled. Except that, in this parking lot managed by a private company, all places, including those reserved for people with reduced mobility, are authorized for… one hour maximum!

All’s well that ends well

As a result, the victim in question who, because of his severe disability, had taken 1 hour and 42 minutes to do his shopping at Lidl before returning to his car, received, 48 hours later,a fine of 40 Swiss francs to pay (around €42.65) from the private company which manages this Lidl car park. And if, indeed, a sign in this parking lot (which the driver had not seen) mentions that if the time allowed is exceeded, a fine will be drawn up, the penalty received here, which was unfair to say the least, was finally canceled. While Lidl management sent its apologies to this customer, indicates the Swiss press.
