CX, XM, C6…
The new model is inspired by the Aero Sport Lounge concept, and therefore takes particular care of its aerodynamics. Its plunging rear part can also be seen as a nod to the large “six-window” Citroën of which this DS can be seen as the spiritual heir. But above all its style marks a real evolution in the design of the young brand, much more so than with the DS4. The front in particular, with its Luminascreen illuminated grille and illuminated logo which create a unique lighting signature.
Why BMW is once again the best-selling brand in Belgium
The interior is also surprising. Centered around a large 16” central screen, it combines Nappa leather, Alcantara, brushed aluminum and elements “designed like crystals”. The atmosphere is therefore chic, but always a bit baroque, with a surprising four-spoke steering wheel in particular.
Record autonomy
The DS N°8 will be available in three technical configurations: front-wheel drive, with a 260 horsepower engine associated with a 74 kWh battery. “High Range” front-wheel drive with 280 hp, and AWD (four-wheel drive) with 375 hp. The latter two will receive a generous 97.2 kWh battery, allowing the two-wheel drive version to reach 750 km of autonomy, a record figure in the segment. The other versions will not fare badly either, with 572 and 686 km announced. Above all, it is the average WLTP consumption that is astonishing: 12.9 kWh/100km to 14.2 kWh/100km! Reference values again in the category. Furthermore, accelerated charging can be done up to 200 kW, while classic charging can reach 22 kW (optional).
“This time there will be electric cars at affordable prices”: the Auto Show marks its big return
And to ensure comfort, a true DS trademark in the face of competition, the N°8 will of course be equipped with Active Scan Suspension, whose variable damping is coupled to a camera located at the top of the charged windshield. to analyze the road in front of the car to adapt the stiffness of the suspensions in real time.
The DS N°8 will be on display as a world premiere at the Auto Show in January, before its marketing across Europe from mid-2025. Prices have not yet been announced.
