(Alliance News) – Credito Emiliano Spa announced on Wednesday that the ECB has informed that the banking group has significantly exceeded its capital requirements.

The main parameter used to measure the solidity of a bank is “pillar 2”, which for Credem is equal to 1%, “the best in Italy and Europe”, writes the published note.

From January 2025, the total capital requirement for the Credem Group will be 7.60%, which represents a significant margin compared to the minimum requirements set by the ECB. The requirements for Tier 1 capital and total capital are 9.70% and 11.95% respectively, already included in the new buffer introduced by the Bank of Italy.

As of the end of September 2024, all Credem capital ratios were well above the minimum requirements. In particular, the group’s CET1 ratio was 15.8%, with a wide margin compared to the ECB’s requirements.

It should be noted that at the end of September 2024, the total activity of the Credem Group, between loans and financing, amounted to EUR 137 billion.

Credito Emiliano traded in the green on Wednesday, up 0.8 percent to EUR 10.76 per share.
