The number of companies created reached 68,263 units at the end of September 2024, according to the latest data published by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). These creations mainly concern legal entities, with 49,164 units, compared to 19,099 individual companies.
The sectoral distribution highlights the predominance of commerce, representing 34.64% of new entities, followed by Building and public works (BTP) and real estate activities (19.23%) and miscellaneous services (18.65%) . The transport, industrial, hotel and catering and ICT sectors show more modest shares, while agriculture and fishing bring up the rear with 1.63% of creations.
At the regional level, Casablanca-Settat largely dominates the ranking with 21,263 new companies, followed by Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (9,761) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (7,912). The southern regions, such as Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, show smaller volumes, but confirm a developing entrepreneurial dynamic.
Finally, with regard to legal forms, the single shareholder SARL (SARL AU) comes first, representing 65% of creations, while the classic SARL follows with 34.4%.
