In an interview with the Portuguese newspaper Expresso and relayed by BFMTV, Carlos Tavares assured that his main objective was to “protect the business so that a difference in viewpoints does not create the risk of business misalignment”.

“A company that employs 250,000 people, has a turnover of 190 billion euros and sells 15 brands worldwide cannot be managed with a lack of alignment, which has an immediate impact on management strategic”he added. His departure was “amicably”you were motivated by disagreements with the board of directors on the strategy of the Stellantis group. “The decision was taken together, with John Elkann, with whom I have an extremely peaceful relationship” explains Carlos Tavares, adding that “he’s almost a friend”.
