“We will not increase the index point”therefore confirmed, this Friday, November 8, 2024, Guillaume Kasbarian, the Minister of the Civil Service, on the airwaves of RMC. And the minister clarified that “The budgetary context does not allow us to increase the index point this year.”
For the record, the index point is a value that allows you to calculate the salary of civil servants. It is multiplied by the civil service employee index to obtain their gross remuneration.
What are the professions in question?
This salary freeze concerns a large number of sectors. And this, regardless of the grade and level of responsibility of the employees. Among the very long list of professions in question, we find teachers of public schools, colleges and high schools and all employees of these establishments. The employees social organizations, town halls, intermunicipalities, departments and regions are also experiencing this wage freeze head on.
