Like its European neighbors, France is aging. A phenomenon that it owes in particular to advances in medicine, which have enabled it to « gain more than ten years of life expectancy over the last fifty years »underlines Sibylle Le Maire, founder of Club Landoy, a business collective committed to the issues of demographic transition.
This transformation involves major issues for society as a whole, including the place of seniors within the company. Their number continues to increase. The employment rate of 55-64 year olds reached 60.8% in the third quarter of 2024, a historic high. Compared to some of its neighbors, however, Paris still has a way to go. In Germany and Denmark, the proportion rises to 75%. In Sweden, the champion of the Twenty-Seven, it even reached 78%.
