It is from his parents’ garage, in a peaceful house a stone’s throw from the botanical conservatory of Brest (Finistère), that Yann Morin, a young 25-year-old entrepreneur, develops the activity of his small company, as audacious as it is ambitious. “We repair, improve, assemble and build batteries adapted to soft mobility (scooters, motorcycles, etc.) and drones,” explains the Brest native, in the middle of assembly.

Supported by his colleague François Ramsayer, he himself currently produces nearly 80 batteries per month. “Not to mention the repairs, improvements to existing systems that companies ask us to carry out, and other types of services related to the world of batteries that our SAS, Batterie Lithium Conception, provides,” says this DIY enthusiast. It was in this same family basement, transformed into a workshop, that he entirely built his electric motorcycle while he was in his vocational baccalaureate!

Having attended an engineering school, where he “lacked too much practice”, the little genius has managed to boost the autonomy and longevity of the battery systems he has in his hands. For the moment, his young company, created two years ago, has customers – generally SMEs – all over France and exceeds 120,000 euros in turnover. “We have two models of battery for motorcycles and two for scooters that we are the only ones who know how to assemble in France.” With a doubling of activity and two hires, Yann Morin is close to leaving the garage.
