The Toronto Power Generating Station National Historic Site will be transformed into a luxury hotel, thanks to a $200 million private project approved by the province.
A museum, an art gallery, a craft brewery, a spa and even a theater are planned by the Society Developments et Pearle Hospitality. Everything will be set up in the former power station of the Toronto Power closed in 1974.

The powerhouse was built in Beaux-Arts style in 1906 on the banks of the Niagara River. It initially provided electricity for the greater Toronto area. The structure was a significant large-scale technical achievement for its time, and played a large role in the development of business, industry and technology in Ontario and Canada
