Since the start of the year, the Tourist attendance in France is increasingboth for French tourists (+4% of overnight stays from January 1 to June 15, according to Flux Vision Tourisme) and for European and long-haul tourists (+5%).
This generally positive situation presents variations according to periodswith a generally satisfactory first quarter, but a lower Easter weekend and spring holidays. More specifically, for the pre-season (from May 1 to June 15, according to Flux Vision Tourisme), French attendance is stable, reaching nearly 140 million tourist nights.
This stability was mainly supported by an exceptional May 8/Ascension weekend (reaching the level of a weekend at the end of July), despite a slight decline since mid-May. European and long-haul traffic continues to show positive momentum since the start of the year with +6% increase. Tourists from far away confirm their return (China, Japan, but also the United States as part of the Commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings).
At the same time, local European tourists show varying trends: United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland are on the rise, Netherlands and Spain stablewhile the Germans are in retreatThe weather conditions, which were particularly bad across all territories, necessarily impacted attendance (tourists and excursionists) as well as last-minute bookings.
